Option 2 (Boost first char): Learn everything the hard way, after being instantly at 80. If you then later want to play the lvl 80 content on another class, you have to manually level the second char, to unlock the content you can do with the first one.
Yes, you might be able to play with your friends but you are no real help for them. More of the opposite (at least in harder content). So if you get the booster refunded (I doubt it): For the love of [insert favorite human god here] stay away from the level 80 booster and learn the game first.
So you could use the boost on a character who is already level 80 to get it out the shared slot and get the items, then if you want an instant level 80 sometime later use tomes or scrolls to level them up. They already use the "type to delete" feature for items. So why not just use that? 1.
Hey, I player my 1st Character to level 25-30 then got a second one boosted to 80 . You might get overwhelmed , you might take it slow and figure it out. In GW2 you scale your level with the maps, so if you feel overwhelmed after the level you can go back to previous zones and chill there and learn the mechanics.
438. Posted October 14, 2021 (edited) Also as new players its very important you pick a right profession to start with. nerco, guard, warrior, ranger is easy to use and learn. thief, revenant, mesmer is bit harder. ele and engineers is the hardest to learn and get use to. lots of button press.
A few days i was in exactly your position. I played a thief and was around level 30. i decided to buy the first 2 expansions for 30€. First of all you unlock mounts, you need a level 80 player to carry you through the mission that unlocks them, but being able to ride on a dinosaur makes exploring really easy and cool.
use exp boost AFTER making sure that your raptor mastery track is selected, do events and personal story imo to get the most exp per hour, PURCHASE LVL 80 BERSERKER STATS GEAR AND USE A BUILD FROM guildjen.com meant for open world, do not use your exp boost before having gear purchased ( I suggest trav runesx6 , 2x energy sigil, and 2x leeching
Both can be easily learned at 80 as well if one just takes time to do so once lvl80. Imo that is more time effective compared to using it on a class that can burn through the low end content anyway with only 1/4th of a full build. On top of that many just end up playing staff mesmer/ele to level anyway. not much of a learning curve to those setups.
